Sometime in early 2021, after working on a UX project on waste mismanagement in Indonesia, I became very aware of the fragility of our precious planet.

Seeing tonnes of plastic in waterways and more ending up in landfills, I felt disquieted with what I had learned. As I started making simple swaps to be more eco-friendly, I discovered several companies demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and a circular economy. These brands were not just sustainable in their processes and packaging but also in their values and how transparent they are as a business.

I started One Kind Box - an e-store with a purpose - to help people find ethically and mindfully manufactured gifts made by Aussie artisans and Fairtrade organisations. They are unique, memorable and handpicked because they deliver impact on a personal and societal level. Whether it's wine derived from grapes grown biodynamically or handmade soft toys free from polyfill stuffing, the products are high quality and come minimally packaged.

Our focus is on reducing our plastic footprint and keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible. We do our bit by supporting local businesses, reusing and upcycling packaging materials and looking for home compostable alternatives as much as possible.
